I stumbled across a HUGE collection of Street Art posted on Street Art Utopia and I must say…they’ve earned that name. Here’s just a few of my favorites from the post:

I love this one. It reminds me of the vintageJOB cigarette ads by Mucha.

16 Feet of Touchwall Goodness

Nov
2

It’s been more than a while since I’ve posted. I know…I’ve been neglecting you. BUT…it’s been with good reason!!

September and October was a mad dash to finish development on a number of digital displays topped off with a History Wall the measure 4 by 16 feet. Yes…FEET. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd, not only is it an interactive touch wall, but it also has a gestural interface to boot. Meaning you can interact with it WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING IT!!!

Here’s a sneak peak of the History Wall during its development at Saint Luke’s Hospital around 3 in the morning before the grand opening. I’m demoing the wall’s “attraction mode” which uses a gestural interface to peak people’s curiosity and get them to touch the wall:

Once we’ve sucked you into touching le wall, up to 3 people can explore an interactive timline that traces back Saint Luke’s 125 years of medical prowess. Sooooo yeah…it’s kind of awesome:

From the wayfinding category, we developed Info Portals that people can use to help them navigate the hospital. Simply enter the place you want to go, a map will animate you path (not yet working in this demo) and you can even print TURN-by-TURN directions to take with you:

While the project’s finale was nothing short of all consuming, it was a pleasure to work on and I look forward to more opportunities to EXCEED it in the future :}

It’s been more than awhile since I’ve posted some new content as I’ve been enjoying Chicago summer for the few months it shows its glorious face. However, recently I had the opportunity to spend 12 wonderful days vacationing in Hawaii. While I went there to recharge, disconnect from emails and temporarily sever myself from my countless personal projects…2,346 pictures later…I had quite a nice project on my hands.

This, ladies and gentlemen, was the result. I had too much fun not to share it with you. Enjoy:

The web version of this video is quite a bit choppier than the final result. Guess you’ll just have to come visit me in person to see the real thing ;)

Dance Experiment (({{STATS EXPLOSION}})))

May

Sooooooo generally when I’m pulling together a mixtape, I focus on creating it for myself as 1.) I thoroughly enjoy the process of its creation and 2.) I want to enjoy the final product for a long time to come. After nearly 6 months of polishing up, I get sick of it and know it’s time to “publish.” And by publishing, I mean that I kick over to several friends with similar music taste that have not only come to appreciate them, but request new mixtapes if I haven’t sent something their way in a while. That’s it.

I was looking forward to releasing my Dance Experiment mix to this year’s Fear Experiment participants because I thought they would appreciate it, but also…that’s +50 new people taking a gander. Freeeeeesh meat ;)

Well. Not only did the Fear Experimenters take a gander, but my Dance Experiment mix was picked up by FridayMixtape and Heavy.com. The result:

A stat explosion worthy of inclusion in a Michael Bay film. At one point the downloads for the Dance Experiment mix alone had risen 16,800%!!!

Now I understand that these numbers still pale in comparison to ticklish penguins, but COME ON. 16,800%, that’s freaking awesome!!!

Hopefully it’s the start of the norm and not a sole exception… 0:)

Yelle {{KILLS}} show at Bottom Lounge

May
7

Last night I danced my HEART out to one of my new favorite artists…Yelle. In a nutshell, she is a french pop artist who sings over upbeat dance music with electronica vibes. The Yelle show was by FAR my top concert of 2011, even besting the recent Cut Copy show at Riveria, which I told her after the show. She absolutely adorable and such a sweet heart of a person, I can not say enough good things about her. Flanked by two excellent drummers, Yelle delivered a stunning performance that I’m still riding high on with her new CD, Safari Disco Club, on repeat.

Here’s a peak at the energy of the show (audio’s crap…unfortunately):

The Yelle show was SO GOOD, that I am going to do something I’ve NEVER done before…I am officially recommending Yelle become a permanent part of your music collection. Here’s iTunes links to some of her work:

Yelle . Safari Disco Club

Yelle . Pop Up

Go snag a copy and let me know what you think! Also, you can find a taste of Yelle in my recent mixtape, Reintroducing.
